Born Ford Hermann Hueffer, he later adopted the name Ford Madox Ford in honor of his grandfather, the painter Ford Madox Brown. He wrote dozens of novels, including The Good Soldier and the Parade’s End series, both celebrated for their psychological depth and innovative narrative style.
