Sherlock Holmes is probably the most famous detective in history—real or fictional. His powers of observation and deduction are legendary. His iconic image portrays the quintessential depiction of a detective.

The Return Of Sherlock Holmes is the sixth title in the Sherlock Holmes Series. Holmes, along with his good friend Dr. Watson, are the premier dynamic duo in crime fiction and set the standard for aspiring detectives as well as mystery authors.

The Return Of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of thirteen short stories. Holmes dramatically returns after being presumed dead. Opening with The Adventure Of The Empty House, Mr. Holmes reveals he faked his death to evade his enemies, most notably Professor Moriarty.

The other stories involve a wide variety of cases, from blackmail and kidnappings to political intrigue and international espionage. The book highlights Holmes’ talent for disguises and his uncanny capacity to outwit his opponents through clever schemes and deductions.

Quote from the book—

“I consider that a man's brain originally is like a little empty attic, and you have to stock it with such furniture as you choose.”

― Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Return Of Sherlock Holmes

“Elementary, my dear Watson,” is perhaps the most well-known phrase of the Sherlock Holmes stories. The only problem is, that phrase never actually appears in any of the manuscripts written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Caveat; Holmes did often use the word “elementary” to describe his deductions and did address Watson as “my dear Watson,” but he never combined the two into a single phrase.
